The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China was established on 19th October 2000, by 51 founding members from a variety of European Union companies based in China and with the support of the Delegation of the European Commission.

Since its establishment, the European Chamber has developed into a highly active organization representing more than 1100 European businesses, from multinational corporations to small and medium-size enterprises.

The Chamber, structured around more than 30 Working Groups, is now the leading advocate for European business interests in China and functions as a non-profit, membership-fee based organization, with offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Pearl River Delta, Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin.

"The European Chamber serves member companies by being the voice of European business in China: providing a channel of communication between high-level Chinese and European political and economic circles; as well as monitoring and reporting on China's market environment, Chinese and European compliance with WTO obligations and other international commitments."

中国欧盟商会于2000年10月19日在欧盟驻华代表团的支持下成立，其创始成员是51个来自不同行业的欧盟在华企业。

自成立以来，中国欧盟商会已经发展成为非常活跃的组织，目前拥有1100多家会员，包括跨国企业和中小企业。

商会的核心是30个工作组，是欧盟企业在华利益的代表。商会是以会费为基础的非营利机构，总部设在北京，并在上海、南京、成都、珠江三角洲、天津和沈阳设有分会。

中国欧盟商会作为欧盟企业在华意见的代表而服务于其会员企业：为中欧政商两界沟通提供渠道；关注并汇报中国的市场环境、中国和欧盟履行WTO义务及其它国际承诺的情况。
