The Commerce, Search, Advertising & Transaction Platform Group (aka. CSAT) was established in 2001. It’s one of the pillars in Microsoft’s Search and Advertising Platform Group. Commerce Platform is a key part to close the loop with the consumer, and provide the much needed context and purchase behavior to improve conversion rate and relevancy to Search and Ads. CSAT (China) was started from 2005, which is a part of CSAT and one of the product groups in Microsoft China R&D Group. Today, CSAT China has a good mix of people from the Redmond campus, Industry globally, and local talents from the top universities.

The Commerce Platform system developed and operated by CSAT, partners with 30+ Microsoft online services and is responsible for processing billions of dollars of transactions every year. The partners include: AdCenter, Xbox Live, Office Live, OneCare, Zune, Windows Marketplace, Windows Live Mail, MSN, etc.. Commerce Platform helps all Microsoft online services deal with the complexity in business logic, data security and redundancy, unified user experience, integration with banks, third party payment gateways and credit card associations, consumer and business intelligence and so on.

The Commerce Platform system involves cutting edge technologies in both frontend and backend, including: data warehouse, middle ware, .NET XML Web Service, AJAX, etc..  The CSAT China team is end-to-end in charge of designing, developing and maintaining the payments foundation and commerce experience subsystems. We have an upside contribution to tens of billions of revenue for Microsoft in the next 3-5 years. We support a broad collection of payment methods in worldwide, including: all types of credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD, American Express, Discover, JCB), mobile payment (Premium SMS & IVR), prepaid cards (aka Token), Microsoft Points, Bank Transfer, Direct Debit, etc. We cover tens of millions of users around the world.

Going forward, CSAT China is developing more exciting features to enable more payment method types in more markets and provider better experience to end users. Commerce Platform will extend scope to partner with external, for example, enable third party merchant to sell Microsoft Points, enable merchants to provide more incentives to consumers upon purchase. Commerce Platform will keep playing a mission critical role and be the key to monetize Microsoft’s advertisement and search services.  We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Developer Engineers.

The developer will be responsible for all aspects of product feature development, including architecture, design, development and unit testing while being accountable to deliver the highest quality service software components. Developers must be skilled in agile development, that is, able to adapt to changing requirements, rapid and numerous release cycles, and multiple simultaneous development responsibilities if required. Qualified candidates should be aggressive thinkers and have a demonstrated track record of high performance feature development. He/she would be expected to write code which would scale up to handle 10s of millions of users with millions of transactions per day. You would also be expected and encouraged to have abilities to explore latest technologies and how they can be adopted to build our business scenarios. He/she will also be responsible for support and troubleshoot technical issues on different environments include production to provide fast response to solve customer problems.

·         4 years+ commercial software development experience, experience in online service application is a big plus.

·         Extensive experience in any of C/C++/C#/Java programming language

·         Experience in database design, .NET, SQL, AJAX, Networking, Security and testing tools and methodologies are preferred.

·         Solid problem solving, design, troubleshooting, debugging skill.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes an aggressive release schedule

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills and aptitude for cross group collaboration

·         Strong passion about online technology and customer experience.

·         A BA/BS degree or above in Computer Science or a related technical field
