Support process engineering efforts towards continuously improving safety, quality and delivery performance.
Provide technical assistance to internal customers.
Troubleshoot in process problems as they arise and make necessary adjustment to produce quality products in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze and improve all existing and new equipment and processes as needed.
2. Troubleshoot in-process problems and make recommendations to increase productivity. Resolve ongoing process and tooling related problems proactively.
3. Create documentation to support existing processes and equipment in accordance with Quality Systems.
4. Design and implement processes, equipment, and documentation for all new projects.
5. Coordinate the design and fabrication of small fixtures and tooling with the fixturing and tooling groups.
6. Solve manufacturing problems related to equipment, processes, or designs
7. Review production processes and recommends changes for improvement; goals should include current technologies which lead to: creating a safer workplace, producing products with higher quality, quicker delivery of products and producing products at a lower cost.
8. Assist maintenance in troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
9. Assist Design Engineering with design and prototyping of new or modified products.
10. Provide technical expertise in the area of process engineering.
11. Develop processes, equipment, and fixtures to aid in the manufacture of products.
12. Develop, revise, and upgrade routers, standard operating procedures (SOP), and bill of materials.
13. Train and instruct associates in performance of their assigned duties using operations work instructions.
14. Develop and implement process capability plans.
15. Work with production managers to prepare plant layouts for maximum utilization of floor space and resources.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and CAD.
2. Ability to operate small hand tools and measuring equipment.
3. Ability to design/assemble small fixturing and tools.
4. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
5. Strong team membership and leadership abilities.
6. Good organizational and communication skills, both English written and oral.
7. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
8. Ability to apply analytical engineering tools such as Finite Element Analysis, FMEA, DOE, DFMA and 8-D problem solving.
9. Knowledge of SPC.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, emphasis on injection molding/stamping/tooling preferred.
2. 3-5 years relevant experience. |
