Responsibilities:
--The Global Network Technical Support(GNTS) Engineer provides Data&Access product line in service case management technical support to Customer, Customer Service Account Managment (CSAM), FSE under the guidance of more experienced GNTS staff members.
--Perform technical issue (CSR/Case - customer service report) investigation.
--Resolve non-critical technical problems on Data&Access products from customer
--Assist to provide service support on Data&Access products.
--Development of product and tools knowledge and skills to achieve GNTS qualification.
--Makes decisions under guidance of experienced staff and following established precedents and known practices
--Escalates any issue requiring assistance to more senior staff within the group.
--Negotiate with Nortel Technologies/Customer on target dates to deliver corrective/preventative solutions under guidance of more experienced staff.
--Work under minimal guidance and receive technical mentoring from more senior team members.
--Be able to resolve complex technical/customer problems and provide innovative solutions.
--Prioritises own work in line with the team objectives.
--As a GNTS engineer, be required to multitask and resolve high-pressure situations.
Requirements:
--Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Entry level position for graduates.
--2-5 years experience in a technical support role in Telecommunication, preferably previous experience in telecommunication , preferably in data communication
--experience in packet switch, Frame Relay and ATM , wide-band data communication
--experience in IP products and concepts an advantage.
--General knowledge on Unix such Solaris for Sun workstation.
--Developing problem solving skills on advanced technologies.
--Trained in overall system and software analysis techniques.
--Works hard to achieve stretching objectives.
--Advanced product and support knowledge spanning a wide range of Data products
--Good interpersonal communication skills.
--Pleasant personality and proven verbal and written skills.
--Meets high standard of conduct and quality of output.
--Fluent Mandarin and English |
