Responsibility:
1. Receive and review design or internal documentation as part of the review and approval process.
2. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to the extent necessary for CM activities.
3. Manage engineering change process.
4. Write engineering changes and deviations for all engineering groups.
5. Support product engineers in all phases of new product launch documentation activities including generation of process graphics and packaging drawings using AutoCAD.
6. Define product routings for new product with minimal industrial engineering assistance and ensure their approval and entry into QAD.
7. Enter/verify Material Master information in QAD.
8. Enter/verify BOM data based on engineering parts list.
9. Verify Routing in QAD is accurate and allocate each part on the BOM to an operation on the Routing.
10. Follow the change process for QAD to ensure changes are properly done with all department’s steps completed.
11. Take appropriate action to ensure any corrections are completed in a timely manner.
12. Prepare product instructions for new product launch release, review with engineer and manufacturing, route for approval, monitor change rejections and work to resolve issues, release approved documents by entry into Master Control database.
13. Maintain released Product Instructions.
14. Ensure standardization of documents is maintained for each operation and each machine throughout plant as well as the updating of interrelated documents when changes are made.
15. Advise QAD core team on issues and request enhancements to improve efficiency.
16. Act as liaison between mother plant and the design facilities on CM and BOM activities.
17. ‘Results’ orientated attitude-develop teams to work specific CM or documentation issues/improvements.
Qualification:
1. AS degree in Computer Science, IS or related field and three to four years manufacturing and/or CM experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. BS degree in Computer Science, IS or related field and two to four years experience in manufacturing, CM, or computer teaching/mentoring role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
4. Knowledge of manufacturing lines and processes.
5. Knowledge of CM principles and procedures.
6. Basic understanding of Web-page set up and maintenance.
7. Must possess good writing and speaking skills and display potential to train others in use of documentation.
8. Ability to work well in a team environment and at times, under deadline pressures.
9. Knowledge of QAD and technical writing.
10. Ability to take the lead and resolve conflict related to documentation.
11. Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio.
12. Basic AutoCAD skills.
13. Keyboard Skills averaging 40-50 wpm minimum.
