Falcons ladies and men’s division 2 win in wet round

All of the Dubbo and District Football Association games to be played in Dubbo and Wellington last weekend were washed out, however thankfully for the North West Falcons the Gulgong matches went ahead.

It was a good thing for the clubs ladies and All Ages Men’s Division 2 teams who both claimed victories at “the nest” Billy Dunn Oval.

Their All Ages Men’s Division 1 side had to sit out the weekend with their match against South Dubbo Wanderers in Dubbo not going ahead.

The Falcons ladies started the day off on a good note with a 2-1 win over Orana Spurs.

The home team took the lead early with a goal to Sally Carral.

Spurs hit back to level again after the half time break.

The Falcons were on the verge of snatching the lead back again with plenty of shots but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

A goal to Katana Lillyst inside of the last 10 minutes getting them over the line.

The Men’s Division 2 team kept their strong season going with a 7-4 win over SDW Titans, after leading 4-3 at halftime.

A remarkable four goal haul by Lincoln, along with goals to Saliba, Colm Foran, and Alex Boyd laid the platform for the victory.

All teams will take a break this Sunday with a competition wide bye for the long weekend.

Then on Sunday, June 19, the Falcons ladies will play host to the Dubbo City Rangers at 9am, in the last weekend before the women’s competition is split into two grades for the remainder of the season.

Men’s Division 1 are away to Dubbo Newtown 1 at 1pm, while Division 2 are at home to Orana Spurs at the same time.
