Smith, who has only played two games for the club, despite debuting for the Dockers way back in 2013, has been upgraded from the rookie list to replace Nat Fyfe who is on the long-term injury list.

The 22-year-old said it had been an emotional rollercoaster after being de-listed by the club at the end of the 2014, and then retained on the rookie list for the last two seasons.

“I was delisted and put on the rookie list a couple of years ago and that was a hard time and I had a bad run with injury,” Smith told AFL苏州美甲美睫培训学校.

“I’ve strung together some games in the WAFL, have played some more consistent footy and felt a lot more positive about the way I’m going and it’s good to finally have another opportunity this weekend.”

As expected veteran forward Matthew Pavlich will miss Fremantle’s clash against the Lions at the Gabba on Saturday afternoon after damaging his groin in the Dockers’ first win over Essendon last weekend.

Luckless forward Michael Apeness (collarbone) and ruckman Jonathon Griffin (hamstring) will also not travel to Brisbane for the bottom-of-the-table clash, while the Dockers have named two of the other talls on their list to replace them – Zac Clarke and Jack Hannath.

Dockers’ coach Ross Lyon said Pavlich was also suffering from a virus.

“He’s been carrying a bit of a groin and he’s got a bit of a virus so as a combination it’s not great,” Lyon told the AFL website.

“He took a mark (against Essendon) and wound back the clock a bit, (but) landed heavily and that flared it up.

“It’s a little disappointing as he played some really good football last week, but we’ll sort through those issues.”

The Lions have named Harris Andrews, Rohan Bewick and Darcy Gardiner, while Jackson Paine (foot) and Allen Christensen and Jonathan Freeman (omitted) go out.

The Eagles made just one change for their crunch home clash with Adelaide with reliable defender Jeremy McGovern – who was a late withdrawal against the Bulldogs last week because of a virus – coming in for youngster Tom Cole.

Eagles’ ruckman Nic Naitanui has been named despite the West Coast ruckman spotted limping around on crutches earlier in the week due to an ongoing achilles problem.

Crows’ ball magnet Scott Thompson and midfielder David McKay have been named for Adelaide, while Ricky Henderson and Wayne Milera have been dumped. Follow WAtoday on Twitter
