Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall cancelled his appearance at Thursday morning event to join the hundreds of mourners who turned out to pay their respects to the popular councillor and community member.

“Karen loved being involved in the community – there was hardly a local group or organisation that she wasn’t a member of or volunteering for,” Mr Marshall said.

“She was always the first to put up her hand to offer her time for a cause in the community and would never turn away from someone in need.

“Karen was a well-loved and respected member of the community, who served on council with distinction from 2008 until her recent passing.

“I extend heartfelt condolences and thoughts to Karen’s husband Mark and the Dusting family.

“We were all blessed to know Karen and have her as part of our lives and she will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.”
