Scenic Rim markets remain firm

Agents Bartholomew andCo reported a rain affected yarding of 364 head of cattle at Beaudesert on Saturday.

As the rain bucketed down, the market remained firm to slightly dearer for all descriptions.

Denis and Yvonne Panzram, of Peak Crossing, sold Charbray steers 2 years for $1405. Heybob Pty Ltd, from Tamborine sold Braford x steers 2 ½ years for $1350.

Droughtmaster x steers from the account of Len and Jan Wilkinson, of Bethania sold for $1255. Brangus steers 15 months, from the account of William Toohill, of Tarome sold for $950. Charolais x weaner steers from the account of Tru Investments, from Woodhill sold for $995.

John and Donna Mounsey, of Moogerah, sold Charbray weaner steers for $850.Dean Pilon, of Merrimac sold Euro x weaner steers for $820. Paul Bambling, of Gilston sold Charbray heifers 15 months for $910. Brahman x weaner heifers account Jack and Paula Sammon, Josephville sold for $695.

Droughtmaster weaner heifers from the account of David and Annette Kassulke, of Beaudesert sold for $620. Charolais x weaner heifers from the account of John and Donna Mounsey sold for $575.

Jim Buchecker, of Slacks Creek sold Murray Grey cows for $1220. Brangus cows from the account of William Toohill sold for $1220. Hal Haseman, of Nerang sold Santa cows for $970.

Brahman x cows from the account of Jack and Paula Sammon sold for $1340.Cunningham Pastoral Co, of Tarome sold Brangus x heifers and calves for $980.

The next Beaudesert Store Sale will be held on SaturdayJune 18, startingat 9.30am.

Hayes and CoAgent Hayes andCo conducted their weekly Silverdale live-weight cattle sale on WednesdayJune 8.

A much smaller yarding of 303 head due to good recent rainfall saw cows dearer. No ox or bulls were yarded, but feeder cattle again sold to strong rates. Veal were also dearer on last week’s rates.

In the cow section, M andS Mills sold droughtmaster cows for 258.2c/kg realising $1446. Wilsons Plains sold Friesian dairy cull cows for 229.2c/kg making $1455.

In the Steer Section, Clark Taylor Pty Ltd sold droughtmaster pasture steers for 300.2c/kg realizing $1451. Donald Pocock sold Santa Gertrudis feeder steers for 304.2c/kg coming back at $1158.

L Hayes sold droughtmaster cross feeder steers for 303.2c/kg coming back at $1058.

Yooralla Pastoral Company sold braford vealer steers for 329.2c/kg coming back at $856.

For Sale: Cattle sales will be held in the Scenic Rim today by agents Hayes and Co and on Saturday by Bartholomew and Co.

In the heifer section, P andA Hayden sold Brangus pasture heifers for 287.2c/kg realizing $1221.LJ andHJ Sellars sold Brahman feeder heifers for 284.2c/kg coming back at $1153.

DAFF Tick Fever sold shorthorn yearling heifers for 305.2c/kg coming back at $870.

The next Hayes andCo Silverdale live-weight cattle sale will be on WednesdayJune 15 at 8.30am.

Last week’s rain resulted in a smaller sale at both Scenic Rim cattle sales on the weekend. Further rain may impact on sales if cattlemen look to restock.
