Tribute band opens the door for kids with autism

Unlocking the Doors are a new Australian tribute group who are rapidly building a followingthroughout Sydney and the east coast of NSW.

The band, based in Wollongong, provides atwo-hour grandstand of music, poetry and drama that is genuinely all things Doors.

Betweenthe musical sets are poetry readings and a number of sequences from Jim Morrison’s postdeath poetry album, ‘An American Prayer’, which was released by the surviving members.

Additionally, the audience can expect the drama and suspense of what Jim used to bringwith genuine outbursts and engaging behaviour from the legend himself.

On Saturday, July 2,the band will be hosting a night of music and food at the NovotelWollongong which will raise funds for ASPECT (formerly Autism NSW), a charity close to theband’s heart.

UTD keyboardist Sandy’s son has thrived due to the ongoing support ofASPECT.

“They have provided a constant source of support and encouragement for myselfand many other parents in the same position,” Sandy said.
